Architecture Review Committee Guidelines

The Guidelines set forth below are meant to enhance the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Hawk Crest (filed in the Mecklenburg County Register of Deeds on March 8, 1995).  The Guidelines do not and cannot replace the Covenants, however, the Guidelines will replace any other Architectural Review Committee standards, documents, minutes or guidelines not specified in the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for Hawk Crest.  The intent of Covenant enforcement is to assure residents that the standards of design quality will be maintained.  This, in turn, protects property values and enhances the community’s overall environment.

All requests must be submitted to Cusick Management Company. Please include all relevant information regarding request with drawings and/or pictures and survey plats with necessary markings. Additional information may be requested by Cusick and/or the Committee. Once all required and requested information has been received, the Committee has 15 days to review your request and either approve, deny or request more information. Upon review, a copy of the submitted plans will be returned to the homeowner marked “Approved” or “Disapproved”. If disapproved, a statement of items not found to be in compliance will accompany the returned copy.

Please plan your home improvement accordingly. No home improvement project is an emergency. Due to the volunteer status of the committee, we have scheduled regular meetings to accommodate the neighborhood and with the Covenants.

The Covenants state that “generally homes must be traditional in design”, therefore all decisions will be made with that statement in mind, as well as with an effort to maintain the standards of the community and the appearance of the neighborhood.

Any unapproved items will be required to be corrected at the homeowners’ expense. Violations will be addressed by Cusick Management Company.

For your convenience, an Architectural Review Form can be found on the Cusick Community Management website
